Chakras and What Christians Need to Know
What if there were a hidden piece of truth about chakras that most Christians have never been told—insights recently highlighted by a Christian naturopath—that could change the way believers understand this controversial topic?
As a Christian Certified Emotion Code and Body Code Practitioner, and a theology student with Dr. Kevin Zadai’s Warrior School of Ministry, I’ve spent time researching what chakras are, where the idea comes from, and how they line up (or don’t) with Scripture. What I discovered may surprise you—and it matters for any Christian who cares about spiritual discernment and healing.
If you’ve ever felt drawn to chakras for healing—maybe because they seemed to promise peace, balance, or personal power—let’s walk through this together with gentle truth from God’s Word. Chakras aren’t just “energy points”; they’re rooted in a spiritual worldview that can subtly pull hearts away from trusting Christ alone. In this article, we’ll look at where chakras really come from, how the enemy loves to mimic God’s design, and what Scripture reveals about God’s true blueprint for our bodies, souls, and spirits—along with simple, Christ-centered steps toward freedom and healing.
Chakras and Christianity start at the beginning of Genesis.
The Serpent’s Promise
It starts in Genesis 3:5, where the serpent whispers to Eve: “Your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” The forbidden fruit dangled god-like knowledge and power—but only through rebellion against God.
Fast forward to chakras and Eastern energy systems, and we see the same temptation. The Sanskrit word “chakra” means “wheel” and refers to seven major energy centers in Eastern mysticism. But here’s the hidden hook: these aren’t spiritually neutral. Original texts describe a serpent goddess called Kundalini, “coiled asleep at the base of the human spine, around the root chakra,” celebrated as “the universal energy, the great cosmic mother, the creative force of the universe.”
When “awakened,” this serpent goddess is said to rise through the chakras, “cleansing and clearing” them and leading to greater self-awareness, spiritual insight, and expanded consciousness. Sound familiar? It’s the oldest lie repackaged: power and knowledge without submission to the one true God.
As I explain in my book God’s Healing Code:
“The Kundalini serpent goddess is not a new idea; it is a modern counterpart to the ancient serpent’s lie in Eden. Both offer a pathway to power and knowledge that bypasses submission to God.”
Scripture shows this same quest for power again and again. At Babel, people built a tower “to make a name for ourselves” (Genesis 11:4). In the New Testament, Simon the sorcerer tried to buy the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 8). In every age, humans reach for spiritual power on their own terms. Ecclesiastes 1:9 reminds us, “There is nothing new under the sun.”
How the Chakras Hijacked Christians
God actually did design real “wheels of light” in our bodies—what Dr. Alphonzo Monzo calls energy centers that are part of His created order. Ancient Eastern cultures observed aspects of this design, but interpreted it through their own spiritual lens, assigning gods and goddesses to each chakra.
In doing so, they overlaid a demonic framework on top of God’s design, creating what many deliverance ministers would call a “legal entry point” for dark spiritual influence. Angela Marie Scafidi, a former witch and Reiki Master who is now a born‑again Christian, explains that chakras feel powerful because something is empowering them—but it is not the Holy Spirit. In her words:
“The enemy has overlaid this system onto the very areas of our body that God designed for His glory… a form of deliberate spiritual engineering, creating a legal structure for the Kundalini spirit to ascend.”
In other words, chakras act as a counterfeit to the Holy Spirit—a serpent system laid over the very “gates” God tells us to guard.
What are those gates? Scripture describes key access points into our lives:

Heart gate: “Guard your heart… for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23).
Eye gate: “The eye is the lamp of the body” (Luke 11:34).
Ear gate: “Faith comes by hearing” (Romans 10:17).
Mouth gate: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).
Mind gate: “Take every thought captive” (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Chakras take these God‑given gates and twist them into serpent‑guarded “energy centers”—a counterfeit highway system for the wrong spirit.
God’s True Design & Christians
.Praise God—He didn’t leave us guessing. Dr. Alphonzo Monzo, a biblical naturopathic doctor, describes God’s authentic system in his book Aleph‑Tav Body System. This is not New Age or Kabbalah; it is presented as God’s blueprint, a “thirteenth organ system” of informational light that helps command and coordinate the other twelve systems (respiratory, cardiovascular, and so on).
Dr. Monzo explains:
“Unlike the rest of the body, these wheels of light communicate with the outside world…Each is connected to a specific endocrine gland and spinal plexus…
Do not get these confused with other so-called chakras…Those are all false systems installed to override the real wheels of light.”
According to his research, these “wheels of light” connect to endocrine glands and spinal plexuses and are designed to communicate outward. Interestingly, some areas of science are beginning to explore the idea that cells use light to communicate. Dr. Konstantin Korotkov has published dozens of papers suggesting that cells use biophotons (tiny packets of light) for coordination, and MIT Technology Review has noted that “cells might be using light to communicate.”
We don’t yet have large, mainstream studies—there’s no major pharmaceutical funding verifying this model biblically or scientifically at scale (though tools like HORIBA instruments could one day help). Until then, the safest biblical approach is the one Jesus gave us: “You will know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:15–20). By that standard, Dr. Monzo’s ministry appears to bear good fruit in people’s lives.
Both Angela Marie Scafidi and Dr. Monzo agree: chakras are an overlay, a counterfeit grid. The Aleph‑Tav system is presented as God’s original design—running on His light, for wholeness in spirit, soul, and body.
Freedom: Repent, Renounce
Like Cain’s sin “crouching at the door” (Genesis 4:7), the Kundalini spirit waits for agreement. If you have opened the door to chakras, energy work, or Kundalini‑style practices—even unknowingly—you can close it in Jesus’ name. Here are some prayers I have found especially helpful:
Renunciation of Satan’s Counterfeit Religious System (for chakra idols).
These prayers, from Diane Hawkins and Restoration in Christ Ministries, are Christ‑centered tools to help you repent, renounce, and come out of agreement with the enemy’s deception.
God's Throne Within
Here is a short reflection from my book:
"As a personal reflection to encourage you, consider this. The prophet Ezekiel saw ‘wheels within wheels’ as part of God’s throne (Ezekiel 1). While not a direct biblical claim, it is a beautiful thought that the true ‘wheels of light’ within us might reflect the majesty of God’s throne, dwelling in us, His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19)."
In Closing: Stick with God’s Blueprint
Chakras may offer a kind of spiritual “light,” but it is a false light. God’s Aleph‑Tav design restores true glory. The enemy copies and distorts truth; there is a real, God‑given design beneath what many call “chakras,” and that truth may surprise a lot of Christians.

There is more to explore. In future articles, we’ll look at topics like muscle testing, Reiki, the Akashic Records, and how we as believers can speak to our DNA in ways that honour Jesus. God has a blueprint for healing—we simply need to discover it with Him.
This article was adapted from the chakras chapter of my book God’s Healing Code. I pray it has encouraged you, brought clarity, and pointed you back to the safety of God’s Word and God’s design.
If this article opened your eyes and you’re longing for safe, Christ‑centred healing, I’d be honoured to walk with you. Click below to let me know you wish to book a Christian Emotion Code session by Zoom and invite Jesus into your healing journey.
